About the training
At Barber School craft and craftsmanship are the basis of the training for barbershop. After an introduction to the basic techniques, both in theory and in practice, during the 40-week course you will be challenged to technically understand and explain your own creations and you will develop your own style.
Not only the craft is central, at Barber School we also invest in your social skills so that you can provide your customer with the best service and the right advice. We develop your basic knowledge into expertise on the basis of various modules.
We are registered as an institution with the CRKBO (Centraal Register Kort Beroepsonderwijs), this register contains educational institutions that meet the Quality Code for Education Institutions for Short Professional Education.
Basic cuts men
During these basic cuts we bring you the principles of hair cutting based on lines, face shapes and profiles. After this module, you master the following basic techniques:
• Cutting with comb en scissors
• Shaving with comb and trimmer
• Blow-dry and styling
• Working with coupe scissors
• Tight contours and finishing
A barber must also have knowledge. So you are not faced with surprises when a customer asks you questions. And you can give your customers appropriate advice. The theory discussed during the training consists of:
• Skin and hair
• Shapes and lines
• Face shapes
• Advice conversation
Create your own style
After you have learned all the actions correctly, you immediately gain practical experience by working with clients in the Heads Academy salon. With the knowledge and skills you now possess you create an appropriate coupe with your customers. You immediately see results from what you have learned!
The Barber is dedicated to getting acquainted with authentic shaving, maintenance of your tools and the use of right care products.
During ‘authentic shaving’ you learn how to achieve the optimal shaving result. In addition to a good shaving technique, the choice of the right blade and its maintenance, the use of the right shaving brush, shaving soap and care products are essential for a good result. You learn how to trim beard and mustache. And how to model to face shape so that personal advice can be given to every customer.
Duration of training
Barber The Barber School barber training takes 40 weeks on the basis of 1 day of classes per week.
Amsterdam: Thursday 5 December 2019 and Tuesday 3 March 2020
Delft: Thursday 9 January 2020 and Tuesday 18 February 2020
Lesson times: 09:30 – 16:00.
